Learning by HEART: Empathy

I had never seen this quote from MLK Jr. before and I thought it was especially poignant. I think a lot of people today get caught up in all the negatives about life, and forget that only positive attitudes counteract negative ones. So, I figured I would share this with you guys, and maybe I could encourage someone to be positive today. Thanks for reading.

  1. I just happened to notice this post, and I am so glad you liked this quote. I read through a lot of Martin Luther King's writings last year over the MLK holiday, and I was amazed by his powers of speech. This graphic was one that I found online after the shootings in Paris, hence the lit-up Eiffel Tower. There are some other beautiful quotes from Martin Luther King that I should add to the Learn by H.E.A.R.T. site; he was a politician who also had a lot of insight into human life in an even deeper sense. Thanks for choosing this one; it made me feel good to see it pop up in the blog stream just now. :-)

  2. Hey Andrew,
I really loved this quote! I really like a similar one from Confucius: “It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.” It can be tough to remain positive when surrounded by negativity, but like you said, only positive attitudes can counteract negative ones! I really like your picture too! The lit up Eiffel Tower with a dark sky is a perfect setting for this quote.
